School Reopening Supervision Committee Setup to assess the readiness of schools.
He said that a multi-sectoral committee has been set up to ensure the readiness of schools for reopening and the committee will take ownership of the work.
The committee is composed of health, education, administration experts as well as parents who are the majority in the committee. The committee will assess the condition of the schools over the next three (3) weeks, verify the availability of materials sent from the Ministry of Education, and facilitate additional support.
In addition, the committee will evaluate the availability of the necessary resources in the schools and the capacity of the school as a whole to continue education.
It is said that schools will be opened when the committee is evaluated and decides on the current situation of the schools readiness.
Private schools also will not be reopened until the parent committee confirms the school’s readiness, said the Minister.
