Ministry of education had discussion up on different educational projects with World Bank country director of Ethiopia.
Regarding the relationship and support of World Bank the country director of Ethiopia Mr. Ousmane Dione said “we want to support more the education sector in Ethiopia, and want to see the projects implemented.”
The minister also thanked the World Bank doing in education sector and said “I would like to thank for the support we have from the World Bank. Without the support of the World Bank the education sector was not improved”. The minister added, as they will keep the relationship they had.
On their discussion Related to implementation of technology in education sector the minister announced as the ministry is working on digital technology strategy for education sector, which shows what the ministry planned to do for the coming years.
The country director said, “The issue of technology should be focused in education sector. Approaching technology in mainstream education especially in rural area should be focused.”
The minister told the director that as the country as there is scary of budget allocation to general education and asked kind attention of the World Bank. And also regarding the deliverables of projects the minister said “the projects will be delivered much ahead of the schedule. “
Additional to the discussion of implementation of projects the World Bank country Director of Ethiopia announced as the World Bank placed 15million US dollar to ministry of education for the response of COVID-19.
Finally the minister invited the delegates to attend the presentation of digital technology strategy for education which will be held on August 16, 2020.
